Sergio Balbinot
Managing Director of Assicurazioni Generali, board member of Commerzbank and member of the European Financial Services round table
Managing Director of Assicurazioni Generali since 2002, Sergio Balbinot started working for the Group in 1983 at the company’s branch in Munich. In 1986 he was asked to join the Group’s insurance operations department at the main headquarters in Trieste, and in 1989 he became head of the Zurich branch. In 1992 he became head of international activities of Europ Assistance S.A., until, in 1995, he went back to Trieste to take over the position of executive vice-president. At the Generali Group, Sergio Balbinot is head of the functions relating to management responsibility in insurance affairs abroad and reinsurance affairs in Italy and abroad, in all technical/management aspects including the management of services common to all companies of the Group abroad in the IT field and in payment of damages. Balbinot is a board member of Commerzbank and a member of the European Financial Services round table.
