Paolo Garimberti
Director of relations and international development for the Espresso Group
Born in Levanto (La Spezia) on 2 February 1943, Paolo Garimberti received a degree in law from the University of Genova. He began working as a journalist at 20 years of age at the Corriere Mercantile. In 1969 he went to work at La Stampa where he became the Moscow correspondent in 1970. He worked at La Stampa for 17 years, where he was a special correspondent and editor-in-chief of the editorial staff in Rome. From 1986 to 1993 he worked for La Repubblica as the editor-in-chief of the national political service, and then as editor-in-chief and editorialist of the international politics sector.
From 1988 to 1993 he was an analyst of international politics for Tg3. In November 1993 he was appointed director of Tg2, where he worked for a year.
In December 1994 he returned to La Repubblica as an editorialist, and a special correspondent of international politics. From September 1996 to October 2000 he was the Editor of the magazine “Il Venerdi” of La Repubblica. In 2000 he became sub-editor of the newspaper. Since February 2005 Garimberti has hosted the Repubblica’s talk show, Radio TV every morning from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday.
