Luca Pancalli
Vice-president of the Italian National Olympic Committee and President of the Italian Paralympic Committee
Born in Rome in 1964, Luca Pancalli is a lawyer, pentathlete and swimmer. After having won a junior modern pentathlon championship, in 1981 he became quadriplegic after falling from a horse. In 1984, 1988, 1992 and 1996 he participated in the paralympic games in the swimming competition and won 7 gold medals and 8 silver medals. He has collaborated in the realization of current Italian laws regarding people with disabilities. In 2006 he was appointed special commissioner of the FIGC (Italian Soccer Federation).
