Giovanni Caprara

Journalist and writer

Head of the scientific editorial staff of the Corriere della Sera, Giovanni Caparra has written a variety of books which have been translated in Europe and in the United States, including “Alla Scoperta del Sistema Solare,” “The Complete Encyclopedia of Space Satellites”, “Abitare lo Spazio”, “Breve Storia delle Grandi Scoperte Scientifiche”, “La Conquista di Marte”, and “In Viaggio tra le Stelle”.
In 2000 he received the Conscientia award, which is given by Milanese universities, as scientific journalist of the year.
In recognition of his work as a divulger of science, the International Astronomical Union named an asteroid, which is in orbit between Mars and Jupiter, “Caprara.”
