Gianni Riotta

Gianni Riotta was born in 1954 in Palermo, where he received a degree in philosophy in 1976. Before his current position, he was sub-editor of the Corriere della Sera, for which he was also a correspondent from New York. In New York he received a degree in journalism from Columbia University. He was also a correspondent for La Stampa and L’Espresso. He began his journalism career working first for Il Manifesto, and then for Il Giornale di Sicilia. He has received the E’giornalism Award, the Premiolino award and numerous other awards. He has collaborated with a variety of foreign publications like Le Monde, the New York Times and the Washington Post. He has taught at the School of Journalism of the University of Bologna and at Princeton University.
