Degree in electronic engineering from the Politecnico di Milano. Francesco Gavazzi is also a research fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research. From 1992 to 1994 he was the general manager of the Treasury Department, responsible for economic research, management of the public debt and privatizations. Currently he is a member of the strategic committee of the French Finance Ministry. He was an director and board member of INA S.p.a. from 1992 to the conclusion of the acquisition offer launched by Le Generali and as representative of INA he was the vice-president of the Banco di Napoli. He collaborates with Project Syndicate, an on-line archive of articles written by economists of many countries, and with Voce.info.
