Francesco Billari

Director of the “Carlo F. Dondena” Centre for Research on Social Dynamics at Bocconi

A full professor of demography at Bocconi University, Francesco Billari is director of the Master of Science in Economics and Social Sciences at the Dondena Centre for Research on Social Dynamics at Bocconi.
Between 1999 and 2002 Billari directed a research group at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock.
He is the associate editor of Demographic Research, a member of the editorial board of Applied Population and Policy, a member of the consortium of the International Max Planck Research School for Demographic Research and a research fellow at IGIER (Innocenzo Gasparini Institute for Economic Research) at Bocconi. He has been a consultant for a variety of institutions including the United Nations (Economic Commission for Europe), the Council of Europe, and the Ministry for the Family of the Federal Republic of Germany.
