Francesco Casetti
Director of the department of communications and entertainment at Università Cattolica in Milan.
Professor of Filmology, Francesco Cesetti has taught in a variety of foreign universities, including the Université Paris III, the University of Iowa, the University of California at Berkeley, where he held the prestigious Chair of Italian Culture (2000), and at Yale. His research focuses on communication strategies and on forms of social impact in audiovisual media, especially in cinema and television. He is a member of the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome and since 2006 he has been a board member of the Istituto Luce. His books include: Dentro lo sguardo. Il film e il suo spettatore (Bompiani,1986), Teorie del cinema. 1945-1990 (Milano, Bompiani, 1993), Analisi del film e Analisi della televisione (both in collaboration with Federico di Chio, Bompiani, 1990 and 1998).
