Domenico Starnone

Writer, journalist, instructor and screenwriter
The films La Scuola, Denti (by Gabriele Salvatores) and Auguri Professore were based on his books. The third film is a satire on scholastic life which Domenico Starnone is quite familiar with due to his past experience as a professor. He won the Strega award in 2001 for Via Gemito, a novel which takes place in Naples during the last century, a familiar story of frustration and desperation in which a father is not able to achieve his dreams.
