Christian Baudelot

Professor of Sociology in the Department of Social Sciences at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris, of which he was director until 2002.

Born December 9th, 1938, Christian Baudelot is a member of the scientific board of the Revue Economique, the editorial board of the Revue Actes de la Recherche en Science Sociale, the scientific committee of La Revue sociétés et representations and a permanent member of the national council of statistics.
His research is primarily focused on education, salaries, jobs and the economic dimensions of social behaviours and class relationships. Previously he was director of the department of Sociology at Nantes University and of the CNRS Laboratory.
