Andrea Padova
Internationally-renowned pianist whose debut concert was at New York’s Carnegie Hall in 1998.
Andrea Padova came to the attention of international critics in 1995 when he won the J S Bach International Piano Competition. His debut concert took place at New York’s Carnegie Hall in 1998. Since 1995 he has been a regular guest performer at top European and US institutions, and has played in Washington, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Montreal, Mainz, Rome, Florence and Milan. In 1997 his CD of Bach fantasies was described by Cd Classica magazine as one of the three best piano CDs of the year, along with those of Andreas Schiff and Murray Perahia. In 2005 his CD of the compositions of Ferruccio Busoni received critical acclaim in the leading magazine Gramophone, which said “Padova is … the ideal [Busoni] advocate. He creates some of the same dark, sustained, organ-like tone that marks Rubinstein's hypnotic 1934 recording".
