Alessandra Venturini
Professor of Political Economics in the Faculty of Law, University of Turin
A political economist at the University of Turin, Alessandra Venturini has also taught at the Universities of Padua, Bergamo, Florence and Geneva. She has been a fellow at Sussex University in Brighton and a visiting professor at Brown University in Rhode Island. She received a PhD in Economics from the University of Florence in 1982. Her principle research areas include: labour economics, economics of immigration, the effects of immigration on the job market, and the effect of commerce on occupation and salaries. Her published works include: Post-War Migration in Southern Europe. An Economic Approach (Cambridge University Press) in 2004, Le Migrazioni nei Paesi del Sud Europa (UTET Libreria) in 2001 and Microeconomia del Lavoro with Renato Brunetta (Marsilio) in 1987, winner of the Saint Vincent award for the best economic publication.
